Eagle Mountain is a modern ghost town, one of the country's best preserved ghost towns. It was founded in 1848 by the Kaiser Steel Corporation for their mine workers and families. Once there lived 4000 people.

The town's fully integrated medical care system lead to today's Kaiser Permanente health maintenance organization.
